From Edwin Olofu, Kano
Famous hunter, Alhaji Ali Kwarra has offered an insight on why car snatchers in the country use Kano state as a route to smuggle stolen vehicles out of the country to neighboring countries.
Kwarra was speaking to journalists in Kano, after his team intercepted a stolen Toyota Camry car in Kano by some armed robbers that allegedly stole the vehicle from Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
He hinted that because of the proximity of Kano state to Niger Republic and the road linking the state to Borno state that share border with Cameroon republic and Chad where those stolen cars are taking to and sold easily without any trace.
He urged the federal government to work assiduously on the Nigeria border security, stressing that if the borders are tight and closely monitor the activities of criminal elements in the country will reduce drastically.
Kwarra revealed that his team trailed about four armed robbers from Abuja to Kano yesterday, but on sighting the men of the Special Anti-robbery Squad (SARS), attached to him fled and abandoned the stolen Toyota Camry ash in colour vehicle with registration number FHA 449 ABC that belongs to one Mr. Collins Emeneke of the federal capital territory Abuja.
