Kaduna State University (KASU) has emerged as one of the most progressive centers for higher learning, excelling in academic delivery, research, and infrastructure expansion.
The Vice Chancellor, Professor Abdullahi Ibrahim Musa, stated that the university has increased opportunities for the youth of Kaduna State to achieve academic excellence.
In a statement issued on Thursday, Professor Musa highlighted that KASU is the only state university in Nigeria to receive a N1 billion competitive grant for commercial agriculture from the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund).
He praised three KASU scholars who have been ranked among the world’s top 2% of scientists, calling it a historic achievement not only for Kaduna State but for Nigeria as a whole.
The scholars mentioned are; Prof. Ibrahim Inuwa from the Department of Chemistry, Dr. Daniel Yahaya Shagaiya from the Department of Mathematics, and Dr. Abdullahi Yusuf Zuntu from the Department of Physics.
“These accomplishments could not have been realized without the support and guidance of Governor Uba Sani. Over the past two years, KASU has undergone a remarkable transformation driven by strategic reforms, targeted investments, and a steadfast commitment to excellence,” he added.
According to Professor Musa, “KASU’s advancements across multiple sectors reflect Governor Uba Sani’s broader vision of human capital development, knowledge-driven growth, and inclusive prosperity for all citizens of Kaduna State.”
He pointed out that Kaduna State University has established two new academic colleges: the College of Science, Computing & Engineering, and the College of Allied Health & Pharmaceutical Sciences.
Additionally, KASU has formed global research partnerships with Lomonosov Moscow State University to bridge digital gaps and promote academic exchanges. The university has also partnered with Universitas Indonesia to advance stem cell research and with Ascending Consultants/Ledger Lab for innovations in artificial intelligence and blockchain technology.
Professor Musa also mentioned that KASU has introduced high-demand programs such as Cyber Security, Data Science, Biotechnology, and Information Systems. He noted that the National Universities Commission (NUC) has conducted resource verifications for 40 new academic programs, accredited over 50 programs, with 47 achieving full accreditation.
