The outgoing speaker of the Yobe state House of Assembly Hon, Ahmed Lawan Mirwa has described the 7th Assembly as peaceful Assembly in the last four years.
Hon. Mirwa disclosed this at the valedictory session of the 7th Assembly which held at the chambers of the House in Damaturu.
The Speaker spoke on the achievements recorded in this period, stating that the 7th Assembly had passed 38 bills and 61 resolutions that have direct bearing on the lives of people in the state.
He commended the state Governor, Mai Mala Buni for maintaining cordial relationship between the legislature and the executive arms of government.
Also, he thanked members of the House, the legislative staff for opportunity given to him to serve as speaker of the House, the maximum support within this period of four years.
The outgoing Speaker urged the members of the House to give support and cooperation to the incoming 8th Assembly for the development of the state.
Furthermore, the deputy speaker of the House, Hon. Mohammed Isa Bello, House Leader Hon. Bukar Mustapha, Chief whip Hon. Buba Ibrahim Kalallawa and Hon. Bulama Bukar among others commended the outgoing speaker of the 7th Assembly Rt Hon, Ahmed mirwa for his good leadership which delivered quality legislation and effective oversight.
