Wike assures completion of projects initiated in Abuja city, rural areas

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Barrister Ezenwo Nyesom Wike has assured to complete all projects in Abuja city and rural areas initiated by the current FCT Administration, as his team will not embark on projects it would not complete.

Wike reaffirmed that  the current FCT Administration he will continue to work with individuals and groups, irrespective of party affiliation, for the development of the FCT.

He asserted this position recently, when he flagged off the reconstruction of the 25km Kwaita-Yebu road in Kwali Area Council of the FCT.

According to him, the six roads earlier flagged off in the six area councils would be commissioned before December 2024, as President Bola Tinubu was determined to ensure that all areas of the FCT feel the impact of government.

“That is what the President owes you. We will do everything to ensure that the rural areas feel the impact of government. When the people do not feel the impact of government, they do not know that government exist.

“ When the people are not feeling the positive impact of government then there is a disconnect between the people and the government. So, when we are building the city, we must also build the rural areas”, he reiterated.

Also, the minister disclosed that the FCTA will soon commence the rehabilitation of schools across the six area councils.

Also speaking,  the member representing Abuja South Federal Constituency, Abdurrahman Ajiya who commended Wike for the efforts towards the development of the area councils of the FCT,  assured him of the support of the National Assembly.

Similarly, the Head of Service of the FCTA, Dr. Samuel Atang thanked the Minister for his doggedness and determination to change Abuja for the better.

He also thanked the President Tinubu and the National Assembly for the support they have given the FCTA, which, he said, has led to the success stories the FCTA has recorded thus far.

On his part, the Coordinator, Satellite Town Development Department, Hon. Abdulkadir Zulkiflu described the reconstruction of the 25km Kwaita Yebu road as a turning point in the on-going efforts by the FCTA to improve infrastructural development, facilitate the flow of goods and services and opening up Area Councils in the FCT, in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of Mr. President.
