Yobe state governor, Alh. Ibrahim Gaidam has approved a total sum of N670.7 million, for the payment of gratuity to a total of 364 civil servants who have retired from the services of the state government and those who have died in service between August and December 2017.
This was contained a press statement from the office of the Director-General Press Affairs, to the governor, Abdullahi Bego, and made available to our state correspondent yesterday in Damaturu the state capital.
It further stated that arrangement was on-going for the payment of same to workers who have retired from the services of the state government from January 2018 to date after verification and the processing of their documents is completed.
It would be recalled that in early January 2018, the governor had approved the total sum of N1.1 billion as gratuities to 631 workers who have retired from the services of the state government between January and July 2017.
The statement assured that the state government would remain unwavering in its commitment to the welfare of workers in its employ.
