Yobe state Governor, Mai Mala Buni

Yobe State Governor, Hon. Mai Mala Buni, has presented a N515.6 billion budget proposal for the 2026 fiscal year to the State House of Assembly, focusing on economic growth and infrastructure.
Tagged the “Budget of Economic Growth and Infrastructural Transformation,” the governor stated that the plan is designed to complete ongoing projects and launch new ones that directly impact citizens, despite global economic challenges.
The total proposed sum of N515.6 billion is heavily tilted towards capital projects, with N323.46 billion (62.7%) earmarked for capital expenditure. “Recurrent services will receive N192.13 billion (37.3%).
“Governor Buni outlined that the budget will be financed through revenues from the Federal Account Allocation Committee (FAAC), Internally Generated Revenue (IGR), aids, grants, and the Capital Development Fund (CDF).”
