
Yobe governorship aspirant donates to Jilli airstrike victims
A governorship aspirant in Yobe State, Kashim Musa Tumsah (KMT), has despatched foodstuffs and cash to families of those caught up in Saturday’s airstrike in Jalli market.
A statement issued on Monday by his media coordinator, Abubakar Ahmed, said while the food items was to support families affected, the cash was to reduce the cost of medication.
The donation was handed over to the District Head of Borko, Mainama Zannah and the Councillor of Futchimiram Ward, Hon Lawan Zannah at the Gaidam Specialist Hospital.
Tumsa was represented by Yobe First Movement Zone A Coordinator, Lewami Alhaji Bakura, who was accompanied by Engr. Bako Mustapha, Gaidam LGA Coordinator of YFM and Hajiya Rabi, Haskey Forum Woman Leader, among others.
He explained that the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant was deeply touched and shocked by the report of the incident.
“This is why he said we should immediately bring these items including rice, cooking oil, cartons of spaghetti and cash to the victims on his behalf and to condole the families of the deceased persons praying Allah to accommodate their souls in Jannatu Firdaus.
“As for the cash, we have been directed to handover to each of the victims on their hospital beds and to wish them quick recovery, ” Lewami said.
In their remarks, both the district head and the councillor thanked KMT for his continued support to the people of the state in their happy and sad moments.
They prayed for his success during the APC governorship primary and the general election.
