Yobe govt. approves N6.2bn for capital projects

Yobe state Executive Council has approved a total sum of N6.2 billion for the execution of projects in the areas of education, health and road construction.
This is the outcome of the Council’s meeting held yesterday at the Council Chamber in the state Government House and chaired by the Deputy Governor, Engr. Abubakar D. Aliyu.
In a breakdown of the figures while briefing journalists shortly after the meeting, the state Commissioner of Home Affairs, Information and Culture, Alhaji Mala Musti, said the sum of N150 million would be spent for the sponsorship of 70 Ulamas and 30 officials to perform the 2019 hajj exercise, to pray for divine intervention for permanent peace and tranquility to prevail in the state in particular and the nation at large.
Another sum of N2.3 billion, he said, would be used for the rehabilitation and construction of Government Secondary Schools in Kukareta, Jaji-Maji, Babban-Gida, and Government Science Technical College in Geidam and Nguru respectively.
Others expenses listed includes the construction of 18 kilometer Danchuwa to Garin Bingel at the total cost of N3.3 billion, and the supply of furniture to the three General Hospitals of Gashua, Geidma, and Potiskum at the total cost of N400 million.
