The Yobe State Ministry of Women Affairs, in collaboration with the National Directorate of Employment (NDE), has flagged off the training of 300 unemployed women on skills acquisition.
The event took place at the Ministry’s Multipurpose Hall in Damaturu, the state capital.
While opening the training, the Commissioner Yobe State Ministry of Women Affairs, Hajiya Yajalo Badama, emphasized on the importance of skills acquisition in fostering economic independence among women.
She urged the participants to make judicious use of the opportunity given to them as they are selected based on merit.
Earlier in his welcome address, the State Coordinator National Directorate of Employment, represented by Mallam Habu Dauda Chiroma said the training categorized into different schemes will dwell on income activities, online and organic supplements among others.
