The Yobe Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP) has organized a two-day legislative retreat for members of the Yobe State House of Assembly to deliberate on Road Sector Reform Bills.
The retreat, held at Chilla Luxury Suites in Kano, focused on the establishment of the Yobe Rural Access Roads Authority (YORARA) and the Yobe State Road Fund (YSRF).
Speaking at the session, the Project Coordinator of Yobe RAAMP, Arc. Musa Suleh Damagum, said the initiative was aimed at ensuring Yobe State continues to benefit from democratic dividends and the enduring legacy of Governor Mai Mala Buni’s administration.
He explained that through RAAMP, the governor is strategically driving investment in durable market access roads that will boost rural trade, enhance agricultural marketing, and strengthen economic growth across the state.
Commending lawmakers for their commitment, Damagum said:
“Members of the Assembly meticulously examined the bills clause by clause to ensure they did not conflict with existing laws. It was a painstaking exercise, and they demonstrated commendable professionalism.”
The retreat was attended by joint standing committee members of the House, alongside stakeholders from RAAMP, YORARA, and YSRF.
