Yobe State presented a diverse portfolio of 26 mineral resources and agricultural products at the 20th Abuja International Trade Fair (AITF), issuing a direct call to investors for partnerships to drive economic growth.
According to statement signed by the Suleiman Baba Gimba, Public Relations Officer, Yobe State Ministry of Commerce, Industry, Tourism and Solid Minerals, and made available for the journalists in Damaturu, the state capital.
Gimba added that, Governor Mai Mala Buni reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to creating such partnerships during the fair’s opening ceremony at the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI).
Represented by the State Commissioner for Commerce, Industry, Tourism and Solid Minerals, Hon. Kaigama Umar, Governor Buni stated that Yobe was moving beyond “theory” to “practical conversations” with investors.
“Yobe State is here with all 17 local government areas, showcasing our agricultural produce and samples of the 26 mineral resources available in the state,” he said.
“We invite investors and partners to visit our pavilion so we can explore areas of mutual interest and establish strong partnerships. Yobe is ever ready to collaborate.”
In his remarks, the ACCI President, Chief Emeka Obegolu, described the fair as a critical platform for fostering trade, promoting innovation, and strengthening Nigeria’s non-oil economy.
He said, the event also featured goodwill messages from Ambassador Abba Nura Rimi, Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry, and Engr. Dr. Jani Ibrahim, President of the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce (NACCIMA).
Suleiman Gimba said, both emphasized the importance of private-sector collaboration for sustainable economic growth.
“The ceremony included the presentation of National Policy Fellowship certificates and the launch of the Buy Africa Build Africa (BABAFEST) project.”
