The Super eagles Captain Joseph Yobo has made his 100th appearance for Nigeria in yesterday’s World Cup Group F encounter with Argentina in Porto Alegre after national team coach Stephen Keshi included him in his starting XI.

Yobo will partner Kenneth Omeruo , Juwon Oshaniwa and Efe Ambrose in defence as the reigning African champions aim to qualify for the round of 16 for the first time in 16 years.

He made his debut for Nigeria’s national side on March 24, 2001 in an Africa Nations Cup qualifier against Zambia in Chingola and has featured in three Fifa World Cups plus six African Cup of Nations.

Aside from scoring seven goals for the country, the biggest highlight of his international career was leading the Super Eagles to win the 2013 African Cup of Nations staged in South Africa.

The 33-year-old has taken part in all of Nigeria’s games at this summer’s World Cup.
