The chief of Yoruba Community Zuba in Gwagwalada Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Alhaji Murtala A. Odunbaku, has charged the Chairman of the Area Council, Hon. Abubakar Jibrin Giri to deem it fit to rehabilitate the dilapidated roads in Zuba for the sake of the residents who voted for him.
He also appealed to the Chairman to provide potable drinking water for the residents in the area.
Chief Odunbaku, who gave the charge while speaking to Peoples Daily Correspondent in his residence in Zuba on Saturday, also pleaded with the Chairman to construct drainages on the water ways to put a stop to the problem of flooding in Zuba.
He then expressed with dismay that the people of Zuba were neglected in terms of infrastructural facilities, and called on the Chairman to do something about it.
He said: “The FCT Area Councils were created to bring development to the communities, but Zuba community was abandoned in the area of provision of social amenities for so long now”.
The Zuba Yoruba Chief, however, accused the FCT Area Councils legislators of failing to provide purposeful leadership capable of satisfying the aspirations of their people, and described the lawmakers as rubber stamp.
