‘Youth empowerment: 63 youths gets 63 million Naira’

In an unprecedented move aimed at reducing youth restiveness, unemployment, boosting job creation while complementing the efforts of Governors of South East Zone.
His Royal Majesty, Igwe Sir Samuel Ikechukwu Asadu, (Igwe Ogadagidi of Igwe Edem-Ani Nsukka) who is the Chairman South East Traditional Rulers Council cum Chairman Enugu State Traditional Rulers Council doled out the sum of 63 million naira to 63 youths
with N1 million each to start a business.
Igwe Ogadagidi said that youth empowerment is at the core of his agenda for South Eastern youths of Nigeria to enable them become productive and compete favourably with their counterparts in Japan, China and other countries across the globe.
Igwe Asadu underscored the importance of investing in youth development and empowerment describing it as a potent means of eradicating youths restiveness, joblessness, criminality among other vices that are prevalent among young people.
While making the presentation before the mammoth crowd that gathered in his town to witness the uncommon empowerment, His majesty stated thus, “youth empowerment is an integral part of my transformation agenda to empower, prepare, and equip youths for the future.
“As your traditional ruler, I am sowing this seed of empowerment on youths because they are future leaders. I am very optimistic that in the next 10 years, this community will have 63 millionaires and even billionaires who will bring giant developments to the community.
“I am empowering our youths to become future millionaires and billionaires to enable them to bring rapid developments in the community. To maintain peace, crime and drug-free society, the interest of youths must be put into consideration by empowering them meaningfully and positively.
“This is the first phase of this empowerment as more youths in the community will benefit in no distant time by God’s special grace, I am happy the community has intelligent and well-behaved youths who are determined to be useful for themselves and the society,” he said.
He urged the beneficiaries to ensure that the money was invested for what it was meant for so that others in the community would also benefit from their successes.”
*Igwe Ogadagidi explained that he is willing to collaborate with Industrialists, manufacturers, Philanthropist, human capacity developers and patriots in Nigeria and the Diaspora towards uplifting a greater number of the youths.*
Meanwhile, Emeka Ugwoke, the president general of Edem-Ani Town Union, praised His Royal Majesty Igwe Ogadagidi for always having the interest of his people at heart and assured that he will work with the committee that selected the Beneficiaries to ensure that the funds were properly utilised.
