Following the appointment of an indigene of Abuja, Suleiman Sani, as a career ambassador designate, some youth under the auspices of Abuja Original Inhabitants Youths Empowerment Organisation (AOIYEO), have expressed excitement for the development.
They noted that the appointment has made them believe that President Muhammadu Buhari heard their call over the exclusion of the FCT indigenes in the first ambassadorial list.
Making this assertion, president of the organisation, Commandant Isaac David, described the appointment as a square peg in a square hole, noting that Sani, who is a native of Abaji area council, has impressive track records in Nigeria’s administrative sector.
Isaac called on Sani not to disappoint the people of Abuja by ensuring that he gives his best to portraying the nation and government of Nigeria to the world in a greater light, urging him to work in the interest of the nation, in line with present administration’s change agenda.
He also commended the FCT minister, Mallam Muhammad Musa Bello for always standing in the interest of the indigenous people of Abuja.
The group added that their efforts in governing the FCT has so far improved the living standard of the people, mostly in the rural areas.
