Yuletide: Jigawa APC Chieftain donates 250 bags of rice to widows

No fewer than 250 widows across seven local government areas of Jigawa South-west senatorial zone have benefitted with 10kg bags of Rice to celebrate Christmas and new year 2026.
The donation was made to the widows and Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) by Jigawa APC Chieftain and also a philanthropist Dr Haleema Sulaiman Zakari.
Speaking shortly after distributing the items, Dr. Haleema Sulaiman Zakari, who was represented by Umar Baffa Kiyawa said the gesture is to complement the season as well as to put happiness in the minds of widows and other vulnerable people in the zone.
According to him, the items were shared among Christian’s widows across seven local government areas of Dutse, Kiyawa, Miga, Buji, Birnin Kudu, Gwaram and Jahun.
He then prayed for a peaceful celebration of Christmas and new year, and urged Christian to pray for peace and stability in Jigawa and the country at large.
While responding to the donations, some of the widows that benefitted Marry Ade appreciated the gesture and Commended Dr Haleema Sulaiman for the donations.
Also speaking, the Deputy women leader of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Happiness Lawrence thanks the philanthropist and urged others to emulate the effort.
