Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has sworn in his former Director-General of Media and Publicity, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, as the new Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs.
Bature was sworn in alongside Alhaji Balarabe Saidu Gani at a ceremony held at the Government House, Kano.
The governor charged the newly appointed commissioners to discharge their duties with dedication, humility, transparency and accountability, urging them to place the interests of the state above personal considerations.
Yusuf said their appointments came with responsibilities that required commitment to public service and the delivery of good governance.
He urged them to ensure that their respective ministries contributed meaningfully to the administration’s development agenda.
The governor also tasked the commissioners with upholding the principles of teamwork and accountability, stressing the need for their activities to reflect the administration’s Kano First agenda.
Bature’s appointment marks his return to government in a higher capacity after serving as the governor’s spokesperson and Director-General of Media and Publicity.
His experience in media relations and public communication is expected to strengthen the state government’s information management and engagement with the public.
The governor urged the appointees to demonstrate commitment to their new responsibilities and ensure that the interests of Kano residents remained their priority.
