Zamfara: AL-NAHDA varsity matriculates 562, warns against cultism, exam malpractice

The newly established Study Center of AL-NAHDA International University Niamey of Niger Republic in Gusau, Zamfara State capital, has warned the 562 first matriculated students to adhere to the rules and regulations of the institution and to desist from all forms of cult and criminal activities capable of derailing the good intention of the University.
Reading out matriculation Oath to the students at Jubril Bala Yakubu Secretariat Gusau, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Abdoul-Aziz Umar Sanda, who gave the warning said, the students are expected to pay most needed attention to their studies as all the required equipments, conducive environment for both teaching and learning were provided as well.
He said part of the aims of establishing the Study Center in Zamfara State, was to contribute towards recovering the lost glory of education and to create a conducive learning ground in an effort to prepare students to morally step up to contain future challenges facing the country.
Earlier, the chairman of the main committee of matriculation ceremony, Malam Nasiru Aula Dabbakal stressed that, the establishment of the Gusau Study Center would help to encourage the teeming youths in the state, who are willing to further their education but failed to do so due to cost of admission fees.
In his remarks, the founder of the Gusau Study Center, Dr. Alkali Labaran S. Salis said, a rush for education especially among the teeming youths is foremost in importance as that could help in achieving crime-free society, stressing that, “Illiteracy has been identified as a contributing factor leading our youths to engage into almost all criminal activities”.
