The Northern Youth Assembly (NYA), a non-governmental organization has concluded arrangements to drag Zamfara State Government to court by next week over alleged killing of innocent lives during the last Wednesday party primaries in the state.
This was disclosed yesterday by the group’s national chairman, Comrade Munnir Haidara Kaura at a press conference in Gusau, the state capital, noting that the lives of innocent people killed by allegedly the agents of Zamfara state government over rejection of government anointed gubernatorial candidate must face the wrath of law.
The chairman, who specifically lamented the way the incumbent chairman of Kaura-Namoda Local Government Council allegedly shot at two people with a pistol, also condemned the serving member Federal House of Representatives representing Maru and Bungudu for allegedly ordered the killing of innocent party member for refusing to vote for government gubernatorial anointed aspirant.
Haidara also expressed dismay over the manner at which two people were killed in Gusau and another set of people especially women and children in Tsafe local government area of the state.
The Group further condemned the action by some of the police officers who allegedly molested innocent voters, a situation that led to stringent resistance from the public, adding that, “If the police have remained neutral during the whole exercise, the burning of Police Outpost in Mortgage area of Gusau would have been avoided.
“We will drag the Governor and all his alleged associates to court for alleged sponsoring political killings and murder of innocent people simply because of their selfish political interest” Haidara further threatened.
