Former Zamfara State Governor, Senator Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar has shunned stakeholders meeting during which consensus candidates for National Assemblies were endorsed as directed by Mr. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu with a view to ensure perfect unity among the members of the party.
The meeting aimed at uniting the party’s supporters in Zamfara state was conveyed on the instance of Governor Dauda Lawal have three former governors, Sen Sani Ahmed Yarima, Mahmuda Shinkafi and Minister of state defence, Mohammed Bello Matawalle, two serving senators Sen Sahabi Yau Kaura and Sen Ikra Aliyu Bilbis.
Group of party’s supporters at the venue of the reconciliation meeting commended the efforts of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in bringing peaceful resolution of the consensus among all aspirants.
They expressed their appreciation for the timely intervention and support given to Zamfara APC to resolved their differences amicably.
Speaking shortly after the meeting, a party member identified as Lawali Danbanga, said Senator Yari’s refusal to show up at the meeting was deliberate attempt to further the crisis among the members of the APC in the state.
Danbaga further cried that, the APC had been long in crisis since 2019 when Senator Yari was the state Governor then, as he stood firm to imposed a gubernatorial candidate against the wish of the teeming party members which led to the failure of the party.
“He should not be allowed to repeat the history by misleading the party into serious crisis that would give opposition parties another chance to win the 2027 general elections in the state.
Others in attendance include all serving members of the Reps, leadership of the party at state, party’s stakeholders and some officials from Abuja.
