The Zamfara State Police Command has enjoined the general public to disregard attempt by some mischievous persons to mislead unsuspecting members of the public and cause disharmony.
In a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Command, SP Shehu Mohammed, said some unpatriotic citizens wanted to cause unrest in the state and beyond through the recirculation of an old video, recorded since 8th November, 2021 during a press briefing by CP Ayuba N. Elkanah.
“For the purpose of clarification, the Command wishes to state that, the video in reference was culled from a confidence building Press Briefing granted by the Zamfara State Commissioner of Police to calm, as at November 2021, the tension caused by the recovery of a letter of threat to attack churches in the state.”
The Command while reassuring the public of its commitment to the protection of lives and property in the state, called on members of the general public and the media to disregard the video, as it is the handiwork of mischief makers to cause havoc.
“For this, I found it necessary to clear the air for the general public to always open their eyes to examine issues embarked upon by the devils who do not in anyway wish Zamfara State and the country in general well. I also urge unsuspecting members of the public to stop further post of the said recircled video”, CP Elkanh has added.
