The Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) in Zamfara state has sanctioned eight filling stations from December 2017 to date over non-compliance of policies pertaining sales of oil products as laid by the federal government.
The Operations Controller in charge of Gusau DPR field office, Malam Ango Haruna made this known to newsmen while inspecting some filling stations yesterday in Gusau the state capital.
The Controller said, “Even though, we have received directives from the federal ministry of petroleum resources that, we should not seal any filling station at this critical time of fuel scarcity but, we have sanctioned more than eight filling stations from December last year to date.”.
“Despite daily surveillance on filling stations, some of the owners were not complying with the federal government ruled as regard to petroleum supply and marketing.
“Some filling stations were captured for selling above official pump price of N145 per litre, some were hoarding while some were diverting the commodity.
“In a situation like this, we don’t seal filling station but what we do is that if find any filling selling above official pump price we make sure that we force it to revert to the official pump price of N145 per litre”, he reiterated.
