The Zamfara State Ministry of Education, Science and Technology has observed with concern the indiscriminate establishment and operation of unregistered private higher institutions across the state.
A statement signed by the Public Relations Officer of the Ministry, Bashir Abashiya, said the proprietors of such institutions have been warned about the grave implications of their actions on the education sector in the state.
The statement noted that many of these institutions do not meet the minimum required standards, particularly in terms of qualified manpower and adequate infrastructure, thereby doing greater harm to the quality and integrity of education in the state.
The Ministry emphasized that the establishment and operation of any private higher institution without due registration and accreditation is a violation of existing regulations and will not be tolerated.
It further called on the management of all unregistered private higher institutions to present themselves to the Ministry with a view to follow due process so as to facilitate meeting all the requirements needed by the State Government.
