Zamfara: NACOTTAN assures improved economy, massive employment

Zamfara State chapter of the National Cotton Association of Nigeria NACOTTAN has assured improved economy and a paradise for job-seeking class in the state through ongoing cotton farming under Anchor Borrowers’ Programme of the Central Bank of Nigeria.
This was issued yesterday (Tuesday) by the association’s spokesperson, Malam Bashir Ahmad after a closed door meeting with the Coordinators of the 14 local governments of the state presided over by the state Chairman, Alhaji Sani Dahiru Gusau.
Sani Dahiru, who commended federal government efforts for the deployment of security personnel down to bushes for the protection of farmers and farm lands, has stressed the need for the cotton farmers to support the programme through effective utilisation of the inputs distributed to them.
The Chairman further urged Coordinators under the programme to in order to emerge best in the 2020 wet season’s loan recovery which will be paid in cotton products by the end of harvesting period, to ensure total respect of the conditions laid by the CBN.
He also commended federal government for committing colossal amount of money to improve agricultural sector particularly cotton farming in Zamfara with a view to restore its’ lost glory especially as it struggle to reclaim it’s slogan ‘Farming is our pride’.
He however assured the federal government and the CBN, the NACOTTAN as well through its national headquarters, a successful outcome of the programme in the year 2020 and beyond with a view to ensure agricultural policies were met.
