Members of the Nigeria Union of Roads Transport Workers (NURTW) Zamfara State chapter led by its State Chairman, Alhaji Hamisu Kasuwar Daji in large numbers invaded and attacked state headquarters of the Zamfara State Fire Service, leaving behind over 10 personnel including the State Director of the Fire Service, Abdullahi Jibo Dauran seriously injured.
Narrating his ordeal, Jibo Dauran who was presently on admission at Yariman Bakura Specialists hospital Gusau, said on the arrival of the NURTW Chairman accompanied by some of his members and number of hired thugs, “I jumped out of my seat while in office in order to put things under control. Suddenly the thugs and members of the NURTW surrounded me with matchettes and other weapons.
“They denied me any chance to ask questions on why the unexpected and unwanted attack on the headquarters of fire service.
“As they continued manhandling and insulting me under the directive of the state Chairman of NURTW, I lost conscious due to excess bleeding.
“Until now, I can not say the reason of the attack.”
