The Zamfara State Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmad Muhammad Bello, visited the State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) on Thursday.
It was gathered that the visit aimed to strengthen existing synergies, revitalize inter-agency relationships, and foster better networking and partnership in the fight against violence and crime across the state.
Speaking during the visit, CP Bello explained that his presence at the NSCDC Command was to familiarize himself with the leadership and seek an extensive partnership—a vital first step for his administration.
“I appreciate the NSCDC as a noble partner in the internal security architecture. I wish to seek a profound collaboration that goes beyond mere synergy to true partnership and networking in combating crime and criminality in Zamfara State,” Bello stated.
He further emphasized that both the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) and the NSCDC are public institutions mandated to provide national security.
Given the unique security challenges facing Zamfara, he noted that it is essential to enhance the working relationship between the two agencies.
“The metropolitan population has increased due to rural inaccessibility caused by banditry.
“ To safeguard lives, property, and the integrity of this state, it is cardinal to coordinate our efforts to secure the future of Zamfara from the challenges threatening its socio-economic welfare,” the CP added.
In response, the State Commandant of the NSCDC, Sani Mustapha, assured the CP of the Command’s resolute commitment to upholding the “3-Cs”—Collaborate, Cooperate, and Coordinate—as championed by the Commandant General, Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi.
He said: “The Zamfara State Command, under my leadership, shall renew its alliance and work relentlessly with the NPF, the lead agency in internal security.
“I reaffirm that security agencies must bond; the synergy between the NSCDC and the NPF has existed since our inception.”
The Commandant concluded by stressing the necessity of continuous networking with sister agencies to improve the state’s security situation, reiterating the NSCDC’s willingness to complement the Nigeria Police Force in securing Zamfara.
