The Zamfara State government yesterday has announced the sum of 92,849,731,500 billion naira being its 2015 budget proposal tagged ‘’Budget of Consolidation’’ and will be ready for presentation before the State House of Assembly next week Monday for constitutional studies.
This was announced by the state Commissioner of information, Ibrahim Muhammad Birnin Magaji shortly after the Executive Council Meeting (ECM) presided over by Governor Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar at the state government house Gusau, saying that, the budget under review has been dropped by 19% as compared to the sum of 109 billion naira presented as 2014 Budget.
Birnin Magaji disclosed that, the sum of 53 Billion naira representing 58% of the total proposed budget will be utilised for the funding of capital projects while the sum of 39 billion naira representing 42% will be directed for recurrent expenditure.
“The 2015 budget will concentrate mainly on three sectors comprising Health, Water and Road constructions, during first quarter of the 2015, during the first quarter, the administration would embark upon expansion of Gusau Water barrage as well as establishment of conventional Airport to ease transportation difficulties”.
“In the Health Sector, the budget will be utilised to expand Yariman Bakura Specialists Hospital and the renovation of General Hospitals Gummi, Talatar-Mafara and Kaura-Namoda respectively. On the roads projects, the 2015 Budget will also be used to construct seven major ones that will link several communities in the three Senatorial districts among which includes, Tsafe-Yankuzo road, Yandi-Chediya-Hayin Alhaji- yanware road”, the Commissioner said.
