Zamfara Senator sponsors free medication to over 5000 patients

A Senator representing Zamfara north senatorial district which comprises; Shinkafi, Zurmi, Birnin Magaji and Kaura Namoda, Senator Sahabi Ya’u Kaura, has sponsored free medical treatment of over 5000 patients most of whom were badly hit by eye problems, diabetes, teeth and testicular problems.
All the selected beneficiaries have been selected from very poor families across the four local government areas of the zone, and have undergone various economic and medical screenings by the experts who eventually confirmed that the patients, if not because of the Senator’s intervention, they could not afford possible charges by the hospitals for their treatments.
According to revelations by sources close to the Senator, there was fast increase of diseases related to eyes, diabetes and hernia amongst the teeming populace across four local government areas under the Senator’s constituency that had drawn his attention to immediately constituted a committee to make findings into the problems and come up with selection.
The outcome contained about three thousand constituents suffering from various cases attributed to eyes problems while one thousand others suffered diatebes, tooth aches and hernia, therefore the had recommended they should be attended to by the sponsored team of medical doctors.
Speaking during the medical operations to the teeming patients at Kaura Namoda general hospital in Kaura Namoda local government area, the Coordinator of the programme, Abba Isa Kaura, told newsmen that, there were reports about the high level of the shortlisted diseases especially amongst the downtrodden across the district which had eventually crippled their legitimate businesses.
