The family of Sheikh Khalifa Sani Abdulkadir, a respected leader of Fityanul Islam, a Tijaniyya sect in Zaria and throughout Kaduna State, is urgently seeking information about his whereabouts.
The Islamic scholar has been missing for 25 days after traveling to Abuja to resolve issues regarding his blocked bank account.
According to his wife, Hajiya Ramatu Khalifa Sani Abdulkadir, Sheikh Khalifa left home early in the morning, telling her he would return the same day.
“He knocked on my door in the morning. I told him I was praying. He gave me money for household expenses and said he was going to Abuja and, God willing, would return that same day,” she said.
However, he has not been heard from since, and his phone is switched off.
The family later learned that Sheikh Khalifa’s account was blocked due to a transaction involving N2 million.
His son, Sunusi Khalifa Sani Abdulkadir, who accompanied him to Abuja, stated that they were informed that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) was investigating the transaction.
