Zeenab Foods Limited, NEPC launch initiative to boost exports

The Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC) in collaboration with Zeenab Foods Limited (operators of the Nigerian export trade house China/Far East Region), yesterday commissioned the Nigerian Exporters Hub (NEXHUB) and the Youth for Export Programme (YEP).

The YEP initiative seeks to facilitate the integration of Nigerian youths into the non-oil exports sector by equipping them with relevant knowledge and skills. This will enable them to actively participate, and effectively compete in the global market through the NEXHUB platform. By doing so, Nigeria’s trade deficit in the international market will be reduced while the country’s overall exports will grow.

The Managing Director/CEO of Zeenab Foods Limited, Mr. Victor Ayemere, said he was exited with the launch of NEXHUB and the YEP initiative. He urged everyone to do export with NEXHUB as NEPC will train and NEXIM Bank will facilitate loans through their women and youth export facility(WAYEF) In order to empower them become export champions.

The permanent Secretary to the federal Ministry of youth and sport development represented by Mrs Cordelia , while commending NEPC and Zeenab Foods’ initiative, urged the youth to seize this empowering opportunity.

The event was graced by an impressive array of dignitaries, including the Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC); Representatives of the Nigerian Export-Import Bank (NEXIM); the Federal Ministry of Trade and Investment; the National Directorate of Employment (NDE); the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development among other noble guests.

The Nigerian Exporters Hub, has successfully trained over a million youths in the business of agro commodity exports. During the event, dollar cheques were presented to corps members who actively participated in NEXHUB’s Export Hand-holding exercise to further empower and drive youth inclusiveness in non oil exports.
