From Ibrahim Sidi Muh’d, Gusau
The Zamfara State Universal Basic Education Board, under the leadership of Professor Nasir Garba Anka, recently organized a thrilling final novelty football competition involving primary schools across the state.
The final kick ceremony took place at the prestigious Zamfara College of Arts and Science (ZACAS) in Gusau, the state capital.
At the conclusion of the competition, the Gusau Zone emerged victorious, securing the first position then Talata Mafara Zone followed closely in second place, while the Kaura Namoda Zone rounded out the top three by achieving third position.
The tournament showcased the talent and dedication of young athletes from various schools, contributing to a spirited atmosphere throughout the event.
In his address, the Executive Chairman of the Zamfara State Universal Basic Education Board, Professor Nasir Garba Anka who was represented by the Director of Academic Services, Alhaji Garba Abdullahi, congratulated the winners.
Prof. Anka further commended all participating schools, recognizing their efforts from the initial stages of the competition all the way to the finals.
He also expressed his administration’s commitment to ongoing support for educational activities and charged the students to intensify their efforts as they prepare for the upcoming grand national competition in Jigawa State.
Similarly, Muhammad Nafiu Yusuf, the Zonal Coordinator of the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) in Zurmi local government area, conveyed his congratulations to the winning teams.
