1 in 4 girls experience sexual violence before 18years – EVA

A group under the auspice of Education as a Vaccine, (EVA), has said one out of four girls in Nigeria suffered sexual violence before age 18.

The Executive Director of EVA, Ms Olabukunola Williams, stated this during stakeholders meeting to validate guidelines for Media Reporting of Gender-Based Violence, (GBV), in the country.

Ms Williams said Gender-Based Violence is pervasive in many communities in Nigeria and data showed women are the most affected and more likely to experience physical violence and sexual violence including intimate partner violence.
