Two hunters were arrested by the police in Adamawa state for alleged impersonating National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, officials.
The suspects, Abdulrazak Bindow, 29 years old and Ismaila Alim, 27 years old, residents of Maiha were apprehended at Kala’a town in Hong local government area while intimidating villagers.
Image maker of the Command, SP Suleiman Nguroje made the disclosure in a press statement issued in Yola Tuesday explaining that, two Pump Actions, 11 live Cartridges, Handcuff, Leg chain, Jackets were recovered from them.
“Adamawa State Police Command has on the 2/03/2023 apprehended a syndicate of two impersonating personnel of National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) at Balkari Village, Hong local government
“They were said to have at the early hours of 2/3/2023 armed themselves with guns and invaded the village, wearing NDLEA Jackets, making the villagers to believe them as personnels of the law enforcement Agency.
“They apprenhended and handcuffed one Amos Daniel,
Kwada Fitagu and Gambo Zira before the villagers raised alarm and alerted the Police who immediately responded and effect their arrest.
“Preliminary investigation reveals that the suspects are members of Hunters Association Adamawa state Chapter.”
