Why Wamakko, others will remain in APCFrom Raji Bello, Sokoto

Governor Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko of Sokoto state has said Nigerians should view the emerging of All Progressive Congress (APC) as a party set to correct the impunity enriched by the PDP-led government.

The governor made this assertion yesterday during the party stakeholders’ maiden meeting held in Sokoto.

Wamakko said the party was conceived in order to serve as an alternative to bad governance institutionalised by the PDP-led government, adding that APC will entrench true democracy, rule of law and justice among Nigerians.

He described as alarming the high level of corruption and impunity being encouraged by the present administration, saying “Nigeria need to be redirected for better”.

According to him, “APC is a party that would enrich rule of law and transparency. After 2015 election, that bad image would go. We will have a Nigeria of our dream.”

Wamakko urged the party members not to be intimidated by what he described as ‘small manoeuvres’ being perpetrated by some elements in the state.

Also speaking, a former minister and state interim Chairman of the party, Alhaji Inuwa Abdul-Kadir Esq, said the meeting was convened to brainstorm on issues of importance as defined by the party national leadership.

He also announced that no fewer than 308,000 members were captured during the just concluded registration exercise in the state.
