As the tenure of the administration of Yobe state Governor, Alh. (Dr.) Ibrahim Gaidam draws closer and the 2015 election draws near, a coalition of 200 Civil Society Organizations, under the auspices of Yobe Concerned Citizens have called on the governor to stand up and contest for his re-election.

The group made this known yesterday at a press briefing which took place at the NUJ secretariat along Gashua road in Damaturu the state capital which was attended by chairmen and representatives of the various associations and groups.

Some representatives took time to speak on behalf of their respective groups on the laudable achievements of the Gaidam-led administration that prompted the call for his continuity in government so as to finish what he has started and continue with new initiatives towards reforming the state and making living condition of the people better.

Highlight of the occasion is the pledge made by the coalition to beyond endorsing the governor for the 2015 election, volunteered to purchase nomination form for the post of governorship election for Gaidam as part of their contribution to the development of the state.

Special guest of honour at the event, Alh. Calipha Yusuf, who is also the patron of the coalition, a seasoned politician called on the attendants to carry the message of Gaidam’s support to all corners of their domains so as to garner the needed support for the fulfillment of the objective.
