The statement further disclosed that at the meeting, Eggon leaders from the  three senatorial zones of Nasarawa state  took turns to buttress their endorsement of President Jonathan  and the information minister for the elections.

It said the communiqué issued listed the establishment of a federal university in Lafia, construction of the Loko-Oweto bridge across River Benue, construction of Lafia-Doma and Lafia-Awe road as well as the construction of a Federal Secretariat as some of the projects provided for the state under President Jonathan which have earned him their support.

Maku was also described as a man of peace that had remained above the fray of ethnic and communal clashes that engulfed the state and used his position to pursue the cause of peace, reconciliation and unity among the warring communities in Nasarawa State.
