Date:

From James Ogunnaike, Abeokuta

Former Governor of Ogun State, Otunba Gbenga Daniel has assured the Labour Party faithful in the state that the party would unseat the ruling All Progressives Party (APC) in the next year’s governorship elections in the State.

Daniel, who spoke at the Ijebu Central Federal Constituency meeting of the party held in Odogbolu; Odogbolu local government area of the state, disclosed that the APC government in the state is already jittery after the recent Ekiti Governorship Election.

“Be patient, it is just only eight months that is remaining. Support them to finish their tenure after that we will now discuss the way forward. We will unseat them in the 2015 elections, be patient”, he said.

He promised that all civil servants that Amosun’s administration sacked when he took the mantle of leadership in 2011 would be recalled if the LP is voted in the 2015 election, saying that”.

Daniel, who governed the state for eight years under the banner of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) questioned the continuous delay in the prosecution of the killers of late Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) Governorship candidate in the 2007 election, Dipo Dina, saying that the killers of the politician had been arrested before he left office”.

“Why are we in a hurry to destroy sports development which is what the youths in Ogun State want? Why are we in a hurry to quickly name an institution after somebody whose death is questionable, why are we not in a hurry to prosecute the people that killed Dipo Dina that have already been arrested before I left office. Who is the beneficiary of Dipo Dina’s death? The witch cried yesterday, the child died today”, he lamented.
