Jonathan-2015By Lawrence Olaoye

The Presidency yesterday inaugurated a committee with the mandate to harmonize and streamline  the over 3000 support groups angling to work for the re-election of President Goodluck Jonathan in 2015.

Jonathan’s Political Adviser, Professor Rufa’i Alkali, who inaugurated the committee in Abuja,  said the panel has been mandated to make adequate consultations with leadership of the support groups with a view to ensuring effective coordination of their activities toward achieving victory for the President at the poll in 2015.

Alkali told newsmen that all billboards, posters and fliers across the country were not being sponsored by the presidency but by well meaning Nigerians who have been persistent in calling of the President to declare for a second term to enable him continue with his Transformation agenda.

He said “As 2015 approaches, we note that the circumstances and fundamentals facing us is somewhat different.  The opposition is different; the political landscape is different, the players are different, and the issues are different.  Therefore to succeed in 2015, there is a great need to re-appraise our strategies and the structure of the umbrella organization (GSG) that helped us to victory in 2011.

In order to address these issues, the re-organization of GSG has become imperative.  I have therefore decided to set up a ‘Special GSG reorganization committee’ to study all issues concerning the organization and propose a re-organization structure that will allow us position for 2015.  It is this committee that I inaugurate today.  This committee comprised of eleven (11) eminent Nigerians who are committed to our Party, our President and Nigeria.
