The Yobe All Progressive Congress (APC) Zone B Youth forum has pledged to
organize three days fasting and prayers to seek for Allah’s divine intervention in the realization of governor Ibrahim Geidam second term ambition for him to continue the provision of dividends of democracy to the people.
A statement signed by the Chairman of the forum, Hassan Bogocho Anchinai, after its meeting in Bauchi and made available to Peoples Daily yesterday, stated that “after thorough consultations we resolved to declare a three days fasting and prayers to seek for Allah’s divine intervention in the realisation of Geidam continuity. Governor Geidam has put a smile in the face of all Yobe people and has brought democratic dividends to the door steps of a common man.”
According to him, it was observed by the forum that Geidam and his amiable deputy, Engr Abubakar Aliyu are a very formidable team and deserved to continue with their mandate beyond 2015.
“We are hereby calling on all stakeholders in the entire zone to ensure the governors re-election due to his efforts towards taking Yobe to greater height and his record of achievements” Hassan said.
The Chairman pointed out that the governor has provided much for the people of Yobe state in terms of human resource development. He said Gaidam has empowered and employed thousands of Yobe youth and had thereby reduced crime and idleness.
He stressed that with Yobe being being an agrarian state, the givernor has constructed rural and feeder roads in all the localities within the state which in turn is aiding farmers to move their goods and services conveniently. “It is also on record that the system has subsidized agric inputs and fertilizer to farmers at a cheaper rate and prices,” the forum noted.
Bogocho added that the governor had made the state university to be counted among the first class citadel of learning in the country with the engagement of expatriates and academia. “The Turkish college scholarship is being given freely based on merit and every year thousands of students are being given. The system has supplied educational material and upgraded our schools and colleges.
“We are hereby calling on Governor Geidam to continue with his mandate as well as calling for the supports of all Yobe people to ensure that he succeeds come 2015. In fact Geidam is a messiah we have always needed in Yobe state,” he said.
The forum also called on all youths in the entire zone to join the APC because its ideology has to do with change for a better future.
