Following criticism of Kaduna state government by former Minister of Federal Territory, Malam Nasir El-Rufai, who said the state lack development under the ruling party, the state Governor, Muktar Ramalan Yero, told the ex minister that he lied on the true achievements of the state government.
The Governor said he does not blame the ex-minister for his political gimmick aimed at cajoling members of his party.
He said the former minister deliberately ignored the facts by peddling outright lies in an apparent display of a huge disconnect with the same people that he aspires to govern.
It would be recalled that the former minister, few days ago, picked his nomination form to vie for the state governorship position come 2015, where he attacked the state government for lack of development.
This his comment during his public declaration in the state, did not go down well with the state government which prompted the state Governor to put things in the right perspective.
In a statement signed by Director General Media and Publicity to the Governor, Ahmed Maiyaki, and made available to newsmen in the state, Governor Yaro described el-Rufai’s remarks as a desperate attempt to portray a bleak state of affairs in the state through exaggeration.
“Our attention has been drawn to the desperate attempt by Mallam Nasir el-Rufa’i, a governorship aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to portray a bleak state of affairs in Kaduna State through exaggeration of the true situation of things.
“While we don’t blame the aspirant for his political gimmick aimed at cajoling members of his party, we believe the former minister deliberately ignored the facts by peddling outright lies in an apparent display of a huge disconnect with the same people that he aspires to govern.
