2015: Youth groups endorse Bakauye for Zamfara guber

A coalition of Zamfara State Youth Development Organizations (ZYDO) under the leadership of its state Chairman, Malam Abba Muhammad, has thrown their support behind Ibrahim Shehu Bakauye, member of House Representatives, Gusau/Tsafe federal constituency to be the next governor of the state.

Abba Muhammad, who made the development known yesterday during a solidarity visit to the state Campaign Coordinator of Ibrahim Bakauye, Nasiru Abubakar Milo, assured massive support of over a million members of the organization across the state, who according to him, were the beneficiaries of the selfless services rendered by the candidate of their choice in the name of constituency projects.

He said the time when a gubernatorial candidate would be remotely-selected in the interest of few political icons has come and gone, stressing that aspirants now could only could be scale through considering the amount of contributions they gave towards promoting the living standards of the people through fighting unemployment and poverty.

Abba further disclosed that, several youths who virtually belonged to various political parties and Nongovernmental Organizations (NGO’s) and coming under the umbrella of ZYDO across the state were strongly convinced that, Ibrahim Shehu Bakauye was the right candidate for a crawling state like Zamfara.

He pointed that the ZYDO has resolved to as soon as possible pour into the streets across the state capital to solicit for the gubernatorial ticket from the opposition PDP in favour of their choice, adding that, he (Bakauye) has contributed immensely towards development of youth in the state by providing employment for 2,500 in his zinc industry in Gusau, the state capital.

He further disclosed that the candidate has initiated various skill acquisition programmes to contain the 27,000 youths earlier dismissed by the state government which scrapped the programme since 2011, shortly after it was initiated in 2000 by the former governor, Senator Ahmad Sani Yarima.

In his remarks, the state campaign coordinator for Ibrahim Shehu Bakauye, Nasiru Abubakar Milo, assured the coalition of more programmes already on the table aimed at a formidable fight against unemployment and poverty among the teeming youth in the state, adding that, number of programmes pertaining women empowerment would soon take up.
