2018 Commonwealth Games: NSF apologizes for none participation

Nigerian Shooting Federation (NSF), have expressed apology to Nigerians and supporters of shooting sport for the inability of the federation to participate at this year’s Commonwealth Games starting next month.
In a release signed by the President of the NSF, Brigadier General Lonsdale Adeoye (Rtd), the federation regretted that despite concerted efforts and funds spent in actualizing the dream of participating in the 21th edition of the Commonwealth Games holding in Australia, it is disheartening that the federation could not participate in the events.
The President lamented that the wasted efforts of the Federation in seeking to participate in the Commonwealth Games have plunged it into indebtedness to their partners as the Federation is obligated to refund their financial assistance following their failure to participate at the games.
The president who explained that the federation had sacrificed a lot in order to be in the Games, However, pleaded with the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development and the Nigeria Olympics Committee (NOC) to help redeem their empty purse and pleaded for the continuous support and cooperation of all stakeholders to move the Federation and the nation forward.
According to the statement, “Nigerian Shooting Federation (NSF) headed by Brigadier General Lonsdale Adeoye (Rtd), wishes to sincerely apologize to all supporters and well-wishers of the Federation for our inability to participate at the 2018 Commonwealth Games, officially known as the 21st Commonwealth Games and commonly known as Gold Coast 2018; an international multi-sports event for members of the Commonwealth that will be held on the Gold Coast, Queensland , Australia, between 4 and 15 April this year.
