From Umar Dankano,Yola

A political group, Marwa Organisation, TMO, based in Yola Adamawa State, has expressed its support to the candidature of President Muhammadu Buhari for the presidential position come 2019 election.
The Organization, which was founded by Former Military Governor of Lagos and Borno states,General Muhammad Buba Marwa, is made of major stakeholders of All Progressives Congress, APC, in the state.
In a communiqué issued by the Organization after a stakeholders’ meeting in Yola Tuesday, TMO posited that it is impressed with leadership style of President Buhari, especially in tackling Boko Haram insurgency and improved security situation in the country.
It also agreed with the measures taken by Buhari administration in diversifying the nation’s economy, noting that it has started paying off with the improvement of agriculture and mining sectors across the nation.
However, reacting to the recent exit of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar from APC to PDP, Marwa noted that Atiku’s departure from the party would not affect the chances of APC in 2019 election.
Marwa, in an interview, told newsmen in Yola that though the exit was a lose to APC, the party in Adamawa cannot be subdued by the opposition party.
Marwa said that, for sure, he and other party stakeholders in Adamawa would deliver the state, particularly in governorship and presidential elections.
He said Buhari administration, within the past two years, had recorded lot of achievements, particularly in areas of security, fight against corruption, improvement in electricity supply and diversification of the economy through agriculture and solid minerals.
“We are happy with the measures the government is taking in diversification of the economy which has already started paying off especially in the agricultural and mining sectors. The improvement is manifested in recent exit from recession.
“No political party would like to lose someone like former Vice President Atiku Abubakar. We will assure that his departure however, will not affect the fortunes of the APC winning the gubernatorial election in Adamawa and the presidential election in 2019,” Marwa said.
