2022 U-20 Women’s World Cup: CAF confirms dates for Nigeria/Senegal final qualifier

The Confederation of Africa Football, CAF have confirmed dates for the last qualifying round for the 2022 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup

Costa Rica is the host nation of the tournament which starts from 10th to 28th August this year.

CAF while confirming the four last teams left in the qualifying race also announced the dates for the two-leg encounters. 

“The FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Costa Rica 2022 qualifiers will reach their final round next March.

“Ethiopia, Ghana, Nigeria and Uganda (Senegal) have all clinched a place for this final stage 

“But only two teams will represent Africa at the World Cup,” CAF said on Tuesday.

According to CAF, the last qualifying round fixtures will see Ethiopia take on Ghana while Senegal will battle Nigeria in the first leg

The dates for the matches have been slated to hold In March 11, 12 or 13, 2022 for the first leg while the reverse fixtures will hold on the weekend of 25, 26 or 27th March 2022.

Below are the fixtures

11, 12 or 13 – Ethiopia  vs Ghana and 

Senegal – Nigeria

March 25, 26 or 27, 2022 – Ghana vs Ethiopia and Nigeria vs Senegal

Nigeria qualified for the final round after thrashing Baby Lionesses of Cameroon 3-0 on aggregate at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja over the weekend.
