Benue State Government and the Governorship candidate of All Progressives Congress, APC, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia are at each other’s jugular over comments allegedly credited to the latter.

The State Governmentt through the Office of the Special Adviser on Media  and ICT Terver Akase frowned at a purported statement in which Alia described the present and past Governors of the state as failures who have only contributed to its underdevelopment since 1976.

However, in a swift reaction, Head of Communication Alia Campaign Organization Kula Tersoo debunked the news report shared on the cyberspace under the above headline and credited to Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia as ‘false, ‘mischievous’ and ‘misleading’.

Kula in a statement  to Peoples Daily, outrightly denied that his principal  did not send out any press release or statement to the Media.

However, Akase decried that, the unguarded utterances of the suspended priest, averring that it was  the least, shocking, ridiculous and unfortunate, coming from a man who has never in his life been tested in any public office, not even at the Council Ward level and therefore totally lacks the capacity to fathom what it takes to govern a state.
