Hakeem Lawal, son of the late governor of Kwara State, Mohammed Lawal, has been declared winner of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) governorship re-run primary election in the state.

Lawal won the primary election held last week at Savannah Central, Ilorin, beating other contestants including the former Chairman, Federal Character Commission, Professor Oba Shuaib Abdulraheem.

The exercise was, however, cancelled by the national headquarters of the party, which ordered for a re-run election.

Barrister George Olatunji Agbaminoja, Chairman of the SDP Governorship Primary election declared Lawal winner of the re-run primary election held at the Arca Santa Event Centre in Ilorin on Tuesday.
