Commissioner of Police, Niger State, Ogundele J. Ayodeji, has convened inter-agency consultative committee on election security (ICCES) in compliance with IGP Usman Alkali Baba’s directive in ensuring peaceful conduct of this year’s polls.
In a statement issued by the Niger State Command, PPRO DSP Wasiu Abiodun said the meeting which was held in CPs office, Minna, was geared towards strengthening collaboration among the security agencies, saddled with the responsibility of providing security for a free, fair, and credible conduct of the 2023 general elections.
The Nigeria Police Force meant to lead the security management during the elections and other heads of security agencies at the meeting reviewed security situations of the State and brainstormed on pulling resources together for maximum results.
The resources to pulled together include manpower, vehicles, and other logistics, as well as ensuring strategic deployment of security personnel and operational assets with constant supervision of officers and men from these agencies.
According to PPRO, security agencies that were present at the meeting were the Military, DSS, NSCDC, Correctional Service, Immigration Service, Customs Service, NDLEA, FRSC and Fire Service.
