Nigerians have been asked to vote for the right leaders in 2023 general elections for the overall development of the country.

The Vice-chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) South West in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Wasiu Tunwase, who is also the Otunba of Yoruba Community, stated this in an interview with Peoples Daily correspondent in his residence at Zuba.

Tunwase urged Nigerians to deem it necessary to pray to God to choose the right leaders for the nation in 2023, just as he advised politicians to desist from any act capable of causing political violence during the 2023 general elections.

On the security challenges facing the country, he charged the Federal Government to redouble the efforts to fight insurgents such as Boko Haram, Fulani herdsmen, terrorists and bandits for the betterment of the nation.

He noted that due to the destruction of the crops by the herdsmen, the prices of the food items have increased in Nigeria, pleading with the government to take necessary action against the Fulani herdsmen.

He therefore applauded the Federal Government for reopening Nigerian borders, urging the government to allow the foreign rice to come into Nigeria.

When asked whether he has political ambition, Otunba said he had no ambition to contest for any political position for now, pointing out that he would continue to put smiles on the faces of the less privileged ones in the society.
