The atmosphere at the ACO, Sabon Lugbe was electric as hundreds of faithful gathered for the ECWA Women Pyakasa DCC Annual Conference.
The event took on a significant political and spiritual tone as the Executive Chairman of AMAC, Hon. Christopher Zakka Maikalangu, joined the congregation not just as a leader, but as one of them seeking a mandate to finish what he started.
Accompanied by Hon. Danjuma Shekwolo (APC Chairmanship Candidate for Kuje), Maikalangu immersed himself in worship and thanksgiving. And the visit served as a bridge between governance and the grassroots, with the Chairman praising the women for their role in nation-building and their consistent prayers for the FCT’s progress.
With the February 21, 2026 elections looming, Maikalangu’s message was clear: don’t stop the momentum, as he appealed to the Christian community to turn out in mass, framing his second-term bid as a necessity for completing transformative projects.
“We have laid a foundation of transparency, rural electrification, and road construction.
“I appeal for your massive votes to ensure these dividends reach every corner of AMAC”, Maikalangu told the captivated audience.
The Chairman didn’t just come with promises; he brought a receipt of his first-term achievements, including: rehabilitation of major roads and installation of solar streetlights in Nyanya, Gwarimpa, and Gwagwa.
Others are significant investments in primary healthcare centers and the upgrading of local school facilities.
However, the leadership of the church, led by Rev. Dr. Shekwonya Ibrahim Jezhi, lauded Maikalangu for his accessibility and his unwavering bond with the religious community.
The conference concluded with a powerful session of intercession, with the women offering special prayers for the Chairman’s success and a peaceful election season across the Federal Capital Territory.
As the race for 2026 heats up, Maikalangu is betting on his solid record of rural development to secure a historic second term.
