Ahead of the 2027 general elections, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) Governorship Candidate in Sokoto State, Hon. Manir Muhammad Dan’iya, has described the newly formed presidential ticket of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and Rt. Hon. Rotimi Amaechi as a historic milestone capable of offering a credible, purposeful alternative for a secure and united Nigeria.
Reacting to the emergence of the duo, Dan’iya—popularly known as the Walin Sokoto—asserted that the pairing of the two veteran national leaders represents a masterstroke of political maturity, national inclusiveness, and a direct response to the socio-economic challenges currently confronting the nation.
In a statement released on Monday by his Media Aide, Aminu Abdullahi, the gubernatorial hopeful noted that the ticket represents a strategic partnership tailored to foster national unity and economic renewal.
“The emergence of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and Rt. Hon. Rotimi Amaechi on the ADC presidential ticket demonstrates the spirit of partnership, national cohesion, and collective responsibility that Nigeria requires at this critical period in its history,” Dan’iya stated.
He further emphasized that the Atiku-Amaechi ticket bridges regional diversity, providing a unified platform capable of advancing economic growth, bolstering national security, and fundamentally improving the welfare of ordinary citizens.
He noted that the ticket repositions the ADC as a formidable third force capable of challenging the status quo in the 2027 polls.
He also described it as the combination of Atiku’s seasoned diplomatic and economic background with Amaechi’s executive track record in infrastructure offers a balanced regional and political appeal.
Dan’iya stressed that the blueprint of the ticket ensures every Nigerian can thrive, irrespective of ethnicity, region, or religious affiliation.
A significant highlight of the realignment is the internal consensus within the party, which Dan’iya credited to top-tier political actors.
The governorship candidate explicitly commended former Sokoto State Governor and current Senator representing Sokoto South, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, for his stabilizing role within the party.
He noted that Senator Tambuwal’s political leadership, experience, and guidance were instrumental in fostering the internal democracy and consensus that birthed the formidable ticket.
As the countdown to 2027 begins, Dan’iya urged all ADC stakeholders, party faithful, and supporters nationwide to close ranks and strengthen the party’s grassroots structures.
Expressing strong optimism about the party’s expanding national footprint, he concluded by charging Nigerians to support the movement, which he noted is strictly focused on accountability, good governance, and practical solutions for national renewal.
